Tips on how raid data recovery software can help you to recover data from raid hard drives

It is necessary for you to understand various raid levels and data organization before you start evaluation of raid data recovery software or services. If you do not plan for emergency, professional data recovery services from reputed companies may not also help you. This is true for Unix, Linux or even NTFS file system.

What Are Raid Levels?

RAID stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks. IBM patented the idea of RAID in 1978. This storage system consists of two or more disks working in parallel. They appear as one drive to the user, and offer enhanced performance or security (or both). Most RAID-systems are based on SCSI, although implementations using IDE disks or FC (fibre channel) disks also exist

In RAID 0 system, data are split up in blocks that get written across all the drives in the array. This is ideal for non-critical storage of data that have to be read/written at a high speed, e.g. on a PhotoShop image retouching station.

In case of Raid 1, data are stored twice by writing them to both the data disk (or set of data disks) and a mirror disk (or set of disks) . If a disk fails, the controller uses either the data drive or the mirror drive for data recovery and continues operation. RAID-1 is ideal for mission critical storage, for instance for accounting systems. It requires minimum of two hard disks.

On RAID 3 systems, data blocks are subdivided (striped) and written in parallel on two or more drives. An additional drive stores parity information. RAID-3 provides high throughput (both read and write) for large data transfers but this technology is fairly complex and too resource intensive to be done in software.

RAID 5 is the most common secure RAID level. It is similar to RAID-3 except that data are transferred to disks by independent read and write operations (not in parallel). RAID 5 is a good all-round system that combines efficient storage with excellent security and decent performance. It is ideal for file and application servers.

eSATA is the new form of standardization for  external raid storage systems because its superior performance. Information on this various levels are important to know to understand the difference with hard disk data recovery.

Hardware and software raid

Hardware RAID usually has a cache, which speeds up the operation of the array dramatically, it does not use system resources as much as software alternative.  Software raid is getting popularity because CPU speeds are now fast enough that the processing time involved managing the RAID array is really minimal compared to the overall processor.

How to Do Raid 5 Recovery

You can recover files using raid reconstructor together with captain Nemo. Even if you do not know the RAID parameters, such as drive order, block size and direction of rotation, RAID Reconstructor will analyze your drives and determine the correct values. You will then be able to create a copy of the reconstructed RAID in a virtual image (.vim), an image file (.img) or on a physical drive. Once you created an image you can mount it with Captain Nemo. If you create the image on another physical drive, you can process it with Captain Nemo or you might even be able to directly boot from it. Actually recover data from raid is not very difficult if you plan everything properly.

You can use data recovery software when your hardware or computer system is functioning proper. Data Compass Premium version can help you with RAID Data Recovery. Visit the link to find more information on raid 5 data recovery . You can search internet to know more on raid 0 or 5 recoveryand rebuild.

What is RAID Data Recovery?

Data recovery engineers should have all possible experience and knowledge on RAID to recover your data when data is lost due to any of the listed circumstances. You should know the raid parameters so that you can inform the same to service providers.

What does RAID Data Recovery prices?

Each recovery is different and the cost is based on the complexity of the problem. Choose a recovery company that will take the time to examine your drive and give you a full diagnostic before they attempt to recover your valuable data. Sending out a drive for data recovery services can cost between $200 and $500.

You can use our data recovery software or our remote data recovery services at an affordable rate for performing a successful raid5 , raid1 or hard disk data recovery.

If you are responsible of data management and securities of your company, you should take help from consultants to plan everything so that you can do emergency data recovery without panic & minimum loss.
